Role title	Bereavement Listening Volunteer Bereavement Support Volunteer Administrator
Purpose of the role	This is a new community project that aims to offer a free, professional, volunteer listening support service in Nantwich and rural communities. It is not counselling.
What you will be doing	Actively listening and supporting bereaved and grieving people, and/or helping with general administrative duties.
Skills, experience and qualities needed	Empathic warmth Good communication skills Non-judgemental attitude Emotional resilience Understanding the importance of confidentiality Reliability Open to hearing feedback General office/publicity/funding skills if (2)
When and where	As required and agreed on.
Support offered	Supervision and support are provided. Supervision will be a requirement if volunteering directly with clients.
Benefits to volunteer	Volunteering can help you gain confidence and experience and learn new skills by giving you the chance to try something new, and to build a sense of achievement. You can also meet different kinds of people, make new friends, and feel part of a new community group.
Other relevant information	Experience in bereavement awareness, or in formal listening skills is not required, as training will be given. A DBS check is required for those working face-to-face with clients. This will be at no cost to yourself, together with one reference.
